R. Eddie Boden, Ed's son, grew up with a camera in his hand.
His first camera was a gift when he was 8. While in elementary, and high school he won
many awards in 4-H photography competition at the Scott County Fair, Blue Grass Fair and the
KY. State Fair. In 1976 he won the KY State Fair 4-H Grand Champion ribbon.
Eddie’s first paid job was photographing an Eagle Scout Service
when he was 13 . He photographed his first wedding four years later in1975. Like the elder
Boden, Eddie used his camera as a tool for providing for his college education.
After college Eddie served two years with Cameron Home Boys
Camp, a division of the Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina. He has managed a
Baptist regional Church Camp, taught at risk preschoolers in Lexington, attended Seminary,
and taught as an elementary substitute teacher for the Scott Co. Schools before returning
to photography full-time. During these years, Eddie’s continued his love for photography.
He is a member of the Kentucky Professional Photographer’s
Association, Senior Photography International, and the Professional Photographer’s of
America. He is active in children’s work at his church and enjoys bicycling, hiking
and camping in his free time. His greatest adventure was riding his bicycle across
America in June and July of 1986. He has biked in 26 of the United States and Washington D.C.
including three 500 mile bike-a-thons for Habitat-for-Humanity.
